Short Description

This half-day course introduces key customs warehousing solutions and special procedures that help businesses improve compliance while managing costs. Learners will also explore the fundamentals and benefits of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation.

Module Overview

The module provides practical insights into how customs regimes such as IPR, OPR, and transit can optimise trade operations, and how warehousing strategies align with compliance requirements. Participants will also learn how AEO status can strengthen supply chain security, streamline customs processes, and provide competitive advantage.

Topics include:

  • Understanding customs warehousing, bonded storage, and their trade benefits

  • Applying Inward and Outward Processing Relief (IPR/OPR) and customs transit procedures

  • Identifying opportunities for duty suspension and deferral through special procedures

  • Evaluating the process, requirements, and advantages of AEO status

  • Implementing a compliant, cost-effective customs and warehousing strategy

Assessment Structure

  • Written Task: 1,000-word assessment on customs, warehousing, and AEO procedures

  • Practical Assignment: Create a CDS customs entry exercise for a selected import/export scenario

  • MCQ: Core customs and special procedures principles

  • Final Marking: On successful completion of the assignment and MCQ, you will gain 3 credits (≈30 hours of learning)

  • Certificate: A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded once both assessments are passed
