This workshop covers the five main types of payment for exports, from advance payment to open account, including Sight Documentary Collection, Term Documentary Collection and Documentary Letters of Credit. It includes the use of Bills of Exchange with and without documents.
Over 75 per cent of first presentations to banks against documentary letters of credit are rejected, resulting in delayed payments to exporters, additional costs and breached delivery deadlines.
The course will give delegates a better understanding of how important it is to get it right first time avoiding delayed payment of goods exported.
Letters of Credit (LCs) are one of the most secure and widely used methods of payment in international trade. As a financial instrument, LCs provide a guarantee from a buyerโs bank to the seller that payment will be made once specific terms and conditions are met. This makes them a cornerstone of secure trade transactions, minimizing risk for all parties involved.
This course will explain all aspects of the rules of origin and trade agreements and how to understand and comply with them to help companies be more competitive in export markets.
